Job summary

Hungerford in West Michigan seeks a Client Advisory Services Manager to lead strategic engagements for for-profit clients and mentor a growing advisory team. You will balance hands-on client work with leadership activities to deliver insights beyond compliance.

The role emphasizes collaboration across service lines, development of financial models, and driving growth for client businesses in a dynamic, client-facing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant public accounting experience.
• 3+ years in a client-facing leadership or advisory role.
• CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
• Experience with QuickBooks, Intacct, or NetSuite.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• A collaborative, servant-focused mindset when working with clients and teammates.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight of full-cycle client engagements for for-profit organizations
• Lead financial discussions, prepare for advisory meetings, and translate data into actionable insights
• Develop and review financial models, budgets, and forecasts to support client growth
• Oversee payroll processes and manage sales and use tax compliance
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and internal controls
• Collaborate with internal teams across service lines to deliver a seamless client experience
• Mentor and coach staff, building confidence, skills, and future leaders
• Contribute to business development and marketing efforts that support firm growth
