Job summary

The City of Hiram seeks an Operations Director to lead and coordinate executive-level management of city departments, programs, and services. You will oversee procurement, contracts, budgeting, and capital projects while ensuring compliance with city policies and laws.

Reporting to the City Manager, this role requires strategic leadership across Public Works, Parks, Utilities, and infrastructure, with emphasis on safety, efficiency, and professional standards in municipal operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible municipal management or related experience.
• Experience supervising multiple departments, programs, and personnel.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct operations of city departments and divisions.
• Provide executive supervision to department heads and staff.
• Develop and monitor budgets, capital needs, and service delivery.
• Coordinate procurement, contracts, and vendor management.
• Oversee capital projects and municipal infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with laws, policies, safety, and ethical standards.
