Job summary

Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is seeking an experienced Solid Waste Environmental Compliance and Capital Improvement Manager to plan and execute capital improvements for the Solid Waste line of business and manage a multi-million-dollar annual capital budget.

The role leads a team, negotiates with agencies, ensures regulatory compliance with Ecology and EPA, and partners with Project Delivery and Engineering to deliver projects on time and within scope.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience with capital improvement projects and regulatory compliance.
• Experience supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage and coordinate solid waste capital improvements with other divisions and outside agencies.
• Ensure deliverables in cost, schedule, scope, quality and risk meet SPU procedures.
• Provide oversight, coaching and support to staff.
• Administer SPU's regulatory agreements with Ecology, the EPA and other regulators.
• Engage with public involvement during CIP design processes.
• Represent the branch and department in interdepartmental teams to update Code as needed.
• Establish and oversee section's quality control and QA procedures.
