Job summary

Detroit Area Agency on Aging is seeking a Chief Information Officer to lead the organization’s technology strategy, cybersecurity program, and digital transformation. The CIO will oversee IT infrastructure, data governance, and vendor management to support aging services and community partners.

This senior role requires guiding leadership, managing budgets, and driving AI governance and risk management across a 150-employee nonprofit.

Qualifications

Master’s degree preferred in information systems, cybersecurity, business/public administration, nonprofit management, or related field.
Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible IT administration or technology operations experience, with at least 5 years in leadership.
Experience in nonprofit, aging services, healthcare, government, or community-based service is strongly preferred.
Experience leading cybersecurity, cloud services, vendor management, budgeting, AI governance, and enterprise technology projects.

Responsibilities

Lead the IT Department by setting priorities, service expectations, roles, and accountability standards.
Develop and maintain an organization-wide cybersecurity program with policies, incident response procedures, and executive reporting.
Oversee networks, cloud services, core systems, and infrastructure resilience; manage budgets and vendor relationships.
Advise President/CEO, executives, and board on technology strategy, cybersecurity, and enterprise risk.
Ensure staff training, cross-functional collaboration, and effective service delivery across sites and remote workers.
