Selby Jennings is partnering with a global investment bank to fill an Investment Banking Associate role in the Chemicals & Specialty Materials M&A team in New York City. The Associate will advise upper mid-market and large-cap clients on complex transactions across sell-side, buy-side, and strategic advisory work.

The role involves working with senior bankers through the full deal lifecycle, building financial models, preparing marketing materials, and overseeing Analysts.

Qualifications

• Significant M&A deal experience, including meaningful execution responsibility on live transactions.
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, and accounting skills.
• Experience working on upper mid-market or large-cap transactions is highly valued.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.

Responsabilités

• Execute live M&A transactions across the chemicals and specialty materials sector, from preparation through close.
• Build and review financial models, including valuation, merger, and transaction analyses.
• Prepare and review pitch materials, CIMs, management presentations, and other marketing documents.
• Lead buyer and investor outreach, including identifying and evaluating strategic and financial counterparties.
• Manage due diligence and data room processes, coordinating with clients, legal counsel, and other advisors.
• Maintain regular communication with clients and senior bankers on deal progress.
• Train, mentor, and review the work of Analysts.
• Support business development efforts, including sector research, market updates, and pitch preparation
