Job summary

Central State University seeks a Chief Financial Officer to provide strategic direction for the Division of Finance and ensure financial health across the institution. The CFO will oversee budgeting, planning, and fiduciary operations, reporting to the COO with collaboration with the president and cabinet.

The role involves long-term budgeting, revenue planning (tuition, state funds, grants), and comprehensive financial management for the university and related entities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible high-level public-sector finance and administration.
• Experience in managing fiscal, financial and capital budgets and projects.
• Extensive knowledge of public sector budget processes, accounting principles, and practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain yearly plans and forecasts; allocate resources and manage fiscal accountability.
• Lead development of the annual operating budget with deans, chairs, and units.
• Provide annual budget and periodic information to the president and Board of Trustees.
• Represent the university to state education and budget offices on budget matters.
• Manage financial audits for the university and affiliated entities.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and cash flow.
