Job summary

McMurry University is seeking a seasoned Vice President for Finance to serve as Chief Financial Officer, overseeing budgeting, reporting, investments, and long‑term financial planning in support of the university's mission. The role collaborates with the President’s Cabinet and external auditors.

The successful candidate will lead campus finance operations, ensure GAAP compliance, and drive strategic initiatives across organizational units.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA certification with active licensure.
Minimum 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in higher education or non-profit.
Strong GAAP and FASB knowledge; endowment management experience.

Responsibilities

Lead all financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, investment management, and long-term financial planning.
Collaborate with the Board of Trustees' Finance, Endowment, and Audit Committees to set financial goals and strategies.
Develop, monitor, and report on annual operating and capital budgets.
Oversee management of invested assets with the Endowment Committee.
Provide data-driven financial insights to senior leadership, faculty, and staff.
Oversee ERP systems upgrades and analytics for campus forecasting.
