Job summary

Culmen International seeks a Chief Financial Officer to lead our finance organization from the HQ in Alexandria, VA. This is a hands-on, executive‑level role guiding accounting, FP&A, treasury, and government contract compliance.

The CFO will oversee 150+ contracts, drive cost accounting and budgeting, ensure DCAA readiness, and report to the CEO and ELT with timely insights to support growth and strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related discipline.
• Significant senior finance/accounting leadership experience within the federal government contracting industry.
• Strong working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint.
• Deep knowledge of government contract accounting, including FAR, DCAA, indirect rates, incurred cost submissions, and contract cost accounting.
• Experience with international operations and managing diverse business lines.
• Demonstrated responsibility for monthly close, financial statements, project accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A.
• Experience leading and developing professional accounting and finance teams.
• Willingness to operate at a detailed, hands-on level.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and financial reporting activities, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
• Ensure accurate financial statements, reconciliations, revenue recognition, cost accounting, and management reporting.
• Lead and develop accounting teams and maintain strong controls and audit readiness.
• Oversee government contract accounting, FAR/CAS, DCAA, and indirect rate management.
• Manage 150+ projects with PSRs and contract-level reporting.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, and Deltek Costpoint-based analytics.
• Oversee treasury, liquidity, and banking relationships.
