Job summary

TESRS is seeking a results-driven Chief Financial Officer to lead financial accounting, reporting, and treasury functions for the state pension system. The CFO will supervise staff, manage cash and investments, and develop budgeting and financial policies.

Ideal candidate has CPA licensure in Texas, pension system or government accounting experience, and a track record of strategic financial leadership in a complex agency environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA license in Texas is required or in good standing.
• 5+ years in budgeting, accounting and financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Direct financial accounting and external reporting for the agency.
• Oversee pension fund investments, cash management, and liquidity.
• Coordinate Legislative Appropriations Requests and operating budgets.
• Develop financial policies and strategic plans; monitor performance.
• Supervise financial management staff and coordinate with auditors.
