Job summary

Finatal, retained by a private equity-backed commercial construction services business, seeks its next Chief Financial Officer in Denver. The role partners with the President and private equity sponsor to professionalize financial reporting and lead profitable growth.

You will implement NetSuite, build FP&A capabilities, and provide financial leadership for organic and acquisitive growth, while preserving an entrepreneurial culture.

Qualifications

• CFO-level experience in a PE-backed or private equity environment.
• Experience in project-based accounting, job costing, WIP, and % complete.
• Strong leadership of accounting and FP&A teams.
• M&A due diligence, transaction execution, and integration experience.
• Comfortable with board and investor communications.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the strategic finance partner to the President, COO, sponsor, and Board of Directors.
• Lead and develop the accounting team while building FP&A capabilities.
• Establish scalable budgeting, forecasting, cash management, KPI reporting, and long-range planning.
• Enhance project-level reporting, job costing, WIP analysis, and profitability visibility.
• Lead board, lender, and sponsor reporting with institutional rigor.
• Oversee NetSuite implementation and improve connectivity across systems.
• Partner with operations on pricing, profitability, working capital, and strategic decisions.
• Drive M&A target identification, due diligence, valuation, execution, and integration.
• Build the finance organization, controls, and reporting for growth.
