Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a strategic Chief Financial Officer for a Tampa Bay nonprofit organization. You will lead a team of about 15 across Finance & Accounting, Inventory, Organizational Excellence, and Technology & Data Reporting, ensuring strong controls, timely reporting, and scalable systems.

As a senior financial executive, you’ll partner with the President & CEO and the Board to steer budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning that supports near doubling the number served while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance required; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive financial leadership in a senior role.
• Nonprofit or mission-driven sector experience is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership, communication, and board-facing presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership as a core member of the executive team.
• Direct and oversee all accounting, reporting, treasury, and payroll functions.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and regulator/funder reporting accuracy.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning aligned to growth.
• Present financials clearly to the CEO, board, and senior management.
• Drive financial systems and internal controls to scale with growth.
