Job summary

Texas College in Tyler, TX seeks an accomplished VP/CFO to lead all financial operations and strategy. The role reports to the President and is a Cabinet-level partner, guiding fiscal stewardship, risk management, and long-term sustainability.

The CFO will accelerate assessment-to-execution, establish robust reporting and forecasting, safeguard resources, and strengthen controls while supporting institutional priorities and student success.

Qualifications

• Significant senior financial leadership experience in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Senior financial leadership in higher education, nonprofit, or similarly complex setting.
• Experience overseeing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, audits, and internal controls.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to executives and boards.
• Knowledge of grants management, Title III/IV, and compliance in higher education.

Responsibilities

• Serve as chief financial advisor to the President and Cabinet.
• Assess financial condition, operations, systems, controls, and risks with urgency and rigor.
• Develop initial priorities and customer-ready recommendations for the President.
• Provide timely, candid counsel on performance, risk, and commitments.
• Align resources with academic priorities and enrollment goals.
• Support Board and President with financial reporting, forecasting, and decision support.
