Job summary

Valley First Credit Union in Modesto, California, is seeking a forward-thinking Chief Financial Officer to guide growth, performance, and member value for a $1.1B institution.

The CFO will balance strategy with execution, oversee ALM, liquidity, capital, and financial reporting, and act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board. Extensive regulatory knowledge and leadership experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA preferred, CPA a plus.
• At least 10 years of accounting/financial management experience.
• At least 8 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Experience with auditors and regulatory agencies.
• Strong knowledge of financial institution regulations, investments, ALM, financial reporting, and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen financial planning, forecasting, and scenario modeling.
• Lead ALM, liquidity, capital, investments, and balance sheet strategy.
• Provide insight into profitability, NIM, ROA, non-interest income, and long-term sustainability.
• Support lending, payments, product strategy, and growth through strong financial analysis.
• Maintain internal controls, audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting integrity.
• Lead and develop finance, accounting, and payments teams with accountability and continuous improvement.
