Job summary

Kforce is seeking a Chief Financial Officer for a family-owned, $50M+ food distribution company in Boston, MA. The CFO will lead all finance functions, drive profitability, and partner with operations to scale growth and improve working capital.

This is a hands-on, strategic role reporting to ownership. Ideal candidates have 15+ years in finance leadership within manufacturing or inventory-intensive industries, with CPA and/or MBA preferred.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience (CFO/VP Finance)
• Experience in manufacturing, food processing, distribution, CP G, or other inventory-intensive industries
• Experience in privately held or family-owned business environments preferred
• Deep FP&A, cash flow management, inventory accounting and operational finance knowledge
• Proven ability to partner with operations and drive performance improvements
• Strong leadership and team-building skills, with experience mentoring staff

Responsibilities

• Lead all finance and accounting functions for the organization
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and analysis
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and KPI reporting
• Partner with ownership and operational leaders to drive profitable growth
• Lead cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and working capital optimization
• Develop financial models to support strategic decisions
• Drive process improvements across finance, accounting, manufacturing, and distribution
• Partner with operations to optimize inventory management and supply chain performance
• Support expansion initiatives, capital investments, and scaling efforts
• Manage auditors, banks, insurance providers, and advisors
• Lead, mentor, and develop a finance team of six professionals
