Job summary

Phoenix Tailings seeks a results-driven CFO to lead the company’s financial strategy and operations during a period of rapid growth. You will oversee capital raising, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls while guiding scalable finance systems and processes.

You will partner with the CEO and executives to drive strategic initiatives, manage investor relations, and ensure long-term financial stability, governance, and compliance in a fast-evolving clean tech and mining environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in senior financial leadership roles in clean technology, mining, manufacturing, or related industries.
• Demonstrated success in fundraising, including equity and debt financing, project financing, and capital markets.
• Exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex business opportunities and risks.
• Deep understanding of mergers and acquisitions, capital structures, and corporate finance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies, including long-term planning, capital allocation, and risk management.
• Advise CEO and leadership on strategic initiatives, growth opportunities, and financial performance.
• Align financial strategies with business objectives to drive sustainable growth and shareholder value.
• Lead capital-raising efforts (equity, debt, project financing) to support expansion and projects.
• Negotiate complex financial structures to optimize terms for the company.
• Cultivate relationships with banks, investors, and financial institutions for funding.
• Oversee financial operations: reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls.
• Implement robust systems and controls for accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks to ensure long-term stability.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and tax requirements.
• Lead audits, investor reporting, and regulatory filings with transparency.
• Build and mentor a high-performing finance team.
