Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch is seeking a Category Manager - Academic Enterprise & Professional Services to lead end-to-end sourcing and category management for non-clinical spend across IT, facilities, and professional services.

You will develop data-driven category strategies, negotiate with suppliers, and partner with Contracting, Finance, Legal, and operational leaders to achieve savings, quality, and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Health Care Administration, or related field.
• 5 years of progressively responsible experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement (indirect/non-clinical).
• Equivalent combination of education and experience per UTMB policy.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage defined portfolio of non-clinical spend categories.
• Develop category strategies and roadmaps using spend data and market research.
• Lead negotiations and sourcing events with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ensure contracts include SLAs, terms, and performance measures.
• Track savings and ensure policy compliance.
