Job summary

Riot Platforms, Inc. is seeking a senior Category Manager – Data Center Cooling to lead global spend on mechanical infrastructure, including chillers, CRAHs, AHUs, and containment.

You will own category strategy, supplier development, and complex negotiations with Tier-1 and Tier-2 OEMs, aligning with engineering roadmaps for rapid data center deployment. You will map risks, optimize total cost of ownership, and drive capacity expansion across regions while maintaining supply resiliency and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 10+ years in strategic sourcing or supply chain, with 5+ years in data center infrastructure or industrial HVAC.
• Strong understanding of mechanical cooling systems and vendor contracts.
• Proven ability to influence engineering stakeholders and executives.

Responsibilities

• Category Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute multi-year global sourcing strategies for cooling commodities to ensure capacity, quality and TCO optimization.
• Supplier Relationship & Development: Manage executive-level relationships with Tier-1 and Tier-2 cooling OEMs; drive capacity expansion and performance scorecards.
• Commercial Negotiation & Contracting: Lead negotiations for Master Purchasing Agreements, Capacity Agreements and SLA frameworks.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with Data Center Design Engineering, Operations, and Construction to align roadmaps with future compute architectures.
• Risk Management & Supply Resiliency: Map multi-tier supply chains to mitigate single points of failure, lead times, and geopolitical constraints.
• Market Intelligence: Monitor trends and regulations to inform executive decisions.
