Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking a Category Purchasing Manager to lead supplier sourcing, contract negotiations, and cost-reduction initiatives for manufacturing commodities. You will drive data-informed decisions, manage pricing models, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure supply chain resilience.

Responsibilities include bidding, contract development, and vendor performance assessments, with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Purchasing or related discipline required/preferred.
• CPM certification is preferred but not required.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Research suppliers for new or current commodities, solicit bids/RFPs, and negotiate best pricing.
• Evaluate cost-reduction opportunities and develop supplier pipelines.
• Create supplier contracts detailing pricing, volume, and delivery terms.
• Gather and format data into reports to support vendor selection and pricing decisions.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors to secure best pricing.
• Support field purchasing managers in decision making and daily tasks.
• Provide guidance and communicate issues and plans to leadership.
