Marathon Petroleum in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Category Analyst to deliver analytics, reporting, and strategic support across Category Management. You will partner with Category Managers to analyze spend, supplier performance, and market trends, contributing to category plans and procurement initiatives.

Relocation is possible; multiple openings may exist within the Supply Chain Category Management teams.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Two or more years of Supply Chain or related experience (Engineering, Category Management, Commercial, Contract Management or similar).
Experience in Materials, Equipment, and/or Services supporting Refining and/or Midstream operations preferred.

Responsibilities

Analytics & Performance Reporting: Leads the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Category Management reporting, dashboards, and performance metrics.
Category Planning & Decision Support: Supports development and execution of category strategies by analyzing data and evaluating spend, supplier performance, and market trends.
Process Governance & Standardization: Maintains process documentation, governance requirements, templates, and reporting standards.
Supplier Performance & Risk Analysis: Monitors supplier metrics and analyzes data to identify risks and opportunities; supports corrective actions.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborates with internal stakeholders to align category initiatives with business objectives.
Contract Development & Administration: Supports contract lifecycle activities, including documentation management, milestone tracking, and renewals.
Sourcing & Commercial Project Support: Assists in sourcing events, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and project tracking.
