Job summary

Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport, TN, seeks a Capital Procurement Manager to lead procurement planning and execution for capital projects. You will partner with project managers, engineering, legal, and suppliers to develop sourcing strategies, manage cost, schedule, and risk, and ensure compliant contracting across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, supply chain, or related field.
• At least three years of relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, or project delivery.
• Strong planning and organizational skills for procurement schedules and actions.
• Commercial and negotiation skills for evaluating proposals and balancing cost, schedule, safety, and risk.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities across complex situations.
• Clear written and verbal communication with stakeholders and suppliers at different levels.

Responsibilities

• Develop procurement plans for assigned capital projects, documenting sourcing approach, supplier strategy, contracting plan, and schedule requirements.
• Translate project scope into procurement packages and a coordinated procurement schedule with engineers and project managers.
• Engage during FEL 1 and FEL 2 to provide market insight, budgeting, supplier input, and cost-reduction options; support FEL 3 readiness.
• Develop and execute sourcing events for equipment, materials, services; coordinate bid packages, supplier lists, bid slates, and evaluations.
• Assess supplier capability and proposals considering delivery, schedule, technical fit, quality, safety, risks, and performance.
• Negotiate contracts and terms for project purchases and services; coordinate deviations with Legal and other functions.
