Job summary

Brigham Young University (BYU) is seeking a Recruiting Specialist to build partnerships with campus departments and lead talent acquisition efforts.

You will develop and execute sourcing strategies, screen applications, and provide consulting to hiring managers. This role requires a bachelor’s degree in HR or related field and relevant recruiting experience; familiarity with Workday Recruiting is a plus. Qualifications

  • Recruitment and screening for campus departments using best practices.
  • Develop and implement recruiting strategies based on needs and labor market conditions.
  • Independently recruit for hard-to-fill positions within assigned areas.
  • Evaluate job postings and applicant pools; provide recommendations to hiring managers.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with hiring managers, HR Business Partners, and Compensation Partners.
  • Serve as a recruiting consultant and strategic partner to assigned campus departments throughout the recruitment and selection process.
  • Develop and implement recruiting strategies for assigned areas based on hiring needs, applicant-pool challenges, labor-market conditions, and priorities.
  • Proactively identify targeted recruiting needs and recommend approaches to address difficult-to-fill positions and challenges in attracting qualified candidates.
  • Independently recruit for hard-to-fill and specialized positions within assigned areas, utilizing sourcing strategies and consulting with senior recruiters or the Recruiting Manager.
  • Evaluate screening approaches and recommend adjustments when applicant pools or results do not meet the needs of the department.
