Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is seeking an Associate Director of Design & Construction to lead planning, design, and delivery of capital, renovation, and infrastructure projects across campus. You will supervise an internal team while coordinating with external architects, engineers, and contractors to deliver on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with institutional priorities.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a closely related field.
• Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience managing design and construction projects.
• Three (3) years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Experience managing multiple capital projects through planning, design, procurement, construction, and closeout.
• Strong knowledge of project management, construction administration, budgeting, procurement, and applicable building codes.
• Experience managing architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and construction contracts.

Responsabilidades

• Provide leadership and supervision for project management and engineering staff to foster accountability and continuous learning.
• Establish departmental priorities, assign workloads, and align resources with institutional priorities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement capital project priorities and strategies.
• Oversee planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout of projects.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously balancing scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
• Ensure projects meet design intent, safety requirements, and campus standards; oversee occupancy and warranty closeout.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA and EHS requirements and incorporate sustainable design practices.
