Job summary

ITW in Lincolnshire, IL seeks a detail-oriented Buyer to manage purchasing of materials, parts and equipment, optimizing price, quality, delivery and terms. You will review requisitions, solicit bids, issue purchase orders and track orders to ensure timely deliveries.

This onsite role totals under $4 million in annual purchasing and requires a Bachelor's in Business or related field, strong communication and ERP proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering or related field required.
• Strong verbal, written and listening communication skills.
• Aptitude with office applications (Word, Excel) and familiarity with ERP systems.
• Problem-solving and organizational/time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Review item specifications against supplier capability to determine best supplier alignment.
• Place orders for materials and supplies with established vendors.
• Interview or contact supplier salesperson, secure bids and review bids with purchasing manager.
• Expedite orders as required and monitor supplier performance.
• Pursue new or alternative sources for supplies to ensure cost effectiveness.
• Ensure adherence to state and federal law, ISO Quality program and safety program.
