Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a detail-oriented Buyer Planner for a contract-to-hire role in Racine County, WI. The candidate will support production by planning, purchasing, and managing inventory to ensure on-time materials availability.

The role requires 2+ years in manufacturing purchasing/planning, ERP/MRP experience, and strong Excel skills. Onsite work in Sturtevant, WI with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of purchasing, planning, buyer/planner, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, JD Edwards, or similar).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting functions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and with suppliers.
• Experience with inventory control and demand planning is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and purchase raw materials, components, and supplies required to support manufacturing operations.
• Analyze demand forecasts, customer orders, and production schedules to determine material requirements.
• Create and maintain purchase orders, ensuring accurate pricing, quantities, and delivery dates.
• Monitor inventory levels and make recommendations to prevent shortages and reduce excess inventory.
• Collaborate closely with Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality teams to align purchasing activities with business needs.
• Track supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
• Expedite orders and resolve material shortages or delivery issues that may impact production schedules.
• Maintain accurate planning parameters, lead times, and supplier information within the ERP system.
• Review MRP reports and take appropriate actions to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory optimization, supplier management, and process efficiencies.
• Assist with annual inventory counts and cycle count reconciliation efforts.
• Generate and analyze purchasing, inventory, and planning reports to support business decision-making.
