Job summary

Global Point Technology Group is seeking a dedicated Buyer/Planner for Fort Wayne, IN to ensure material availability aligned with sales and production schedules. You will forecast demand, manage inventory, coordinate with suppliers, and support product changes and material revisions.

The role requires strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, Excel, and supplier negotiations. This is a 1st shift, Monday–Friday, on-site position with responsibilities spanning procurement, inventory control, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics or equivalent.
• 5 years’ experience in buyer/planner/material scheduling in manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Epicor preferred.
• Strong knowledge of demand planning, forecasting, and inventory control.
• Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Forecast material and components as required; summarize quotes for approval.
• Place and track purchase orders to meet forecast and production schedule.
• Monitor PO status for on-time delivery and resolve issues with suppliers.
• Coordinate with sales and inventory control to prevent stock-outs.
• Develop proactive purchasing plans and adjust orders per schedule changes.
• Manage supplier costs, solicit bids, and maintain cost data base.
• Support material revisions, BOM changes, and new supplier introductions.
