Job summary

Pioneer Service Inc. is seeking an Operations Planner & Buyer to keep production moving and orders on schedule in a fast-paced, onsite manufacturing environment.

You will manage planning, purchasing, material availability, outside processing, and ERP data within Global Shop Solutions while collaborating with Production, Engineering, Quality, Customer Service, Sales, and suppliers. The role requires strong planning and analytical skills, experience with ERP/MRP systems, and the ability to

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in production planning, purchasing, materials management, or a combination of these functions within a manufacturing environment.
• Machine-shop or precision-manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems; Global Shop Solutions experience is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of production scheduling, routings, work orders, inventory control, purchasing, and material planning.
• Ability to understand manufacturing capacity, lead times, material requirements, and production constraints.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication skills with production, suppliers, and other departments.
• High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate ERP data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer due dates, capacity, material availability, tooling, and priorities.
• Create, release, maintain, and prioritize work orders within Global Shop Solutions.
• Monitor work-in-process and progress from release to completion.
• Review customer requirements, open orders, overdue jobs, shortages, and priorities daily.
• Identify scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, material shortages, and risks before they affect deliveries.
• Coordinate production priorities and ship dates with cross-functional teams.
• Review routers and planning information for accuracy and communicate discrepancies.
