Job summary

Therm-x of California is seeking a Buyer/Planner in Hayward, California, to manage material flow, place and maintain purchase orders, and coordinate with multiple departments. This full-time role requires planning, inventory management, and expediting when needed.

The position emphasizes supplier sourcing, cost control, and ERP/MRP system utilization, with a focus on meeting schedules and cost targets. Bachelor's degree in supply management or equivalent plus 3 years procurement/planning

Qualifications

• Planning experience is required; Purchasing experience desirable.
• Familiarity with machine shop planning and supplies procurement processes.
• Proficient with MS Office products and ERP systems.
• High level of oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, and reliability.
• Responsible for open orders, specifications, quality issues and invoice discrepancies; develop programs to improve supplier quality and dependability.
• Monitor cost, schedule and scope of subcontracts to ensure quality, value and timely delivery.
• Use ERP to process approved purchase requisitions and daily material demands; follow up on deliveries and expedite as needed.
• Negotiate and administer contracts with suppliers; support new program launches by sourcing capable suppliers.
• Maintain accurate cost information in all systems; replenish inventory using MRPs.
