Job summary

Norman Equipment Company is seeking a motivated Buyer/Planner to support procurement and inventory planning, ensuring material availability and supplier performance across the organization. The role collaborates with Customer Service, Warehouse Operations, Suppliers and Leadership to drive process improvements and operational excellence.

The position focuses on maintaining stock levels, managing ERP data, and using MRP tools to optimize supply and demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 2+ years purchasing, planning, or inventory control experience.
• Strong data analysis and forecasting skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of manufacturing and distribution supply chains.
• Experience with MRP-based ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Epicor).

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders from creation through receipt and supplier communications.
• Review demand and inventory requirements to ensure stock levels.
• Maintain supplier pricing, lead times, discounts, and purchasing data in ERP.
• Use MRP tools to manage supply and demand planning.
• Set and maintain reorder points and EOQ.
• Support cycle counting and inventory accuracy improvements.
• Collaborate with Customer Service and Warehouse to optimize material flow.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and service levels.
• Support ERP enhancements and data maintenance.
• Develop KPIs for purchasing, inventory, and supplier performance.
• Participate in continuous improvement and root cause analyses.
