Job summary

NORMA Group in Michigan is seeking a Material Planner to optimize procurement and production materials to meet schedules. You will use ERP systems, including Microsoft Dynamics D365, to create reports guiding plants and suppliers and to monitor inventories.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in logistics or supply chain, at least 3 years in a related logistics role, and experience with ISO/TS and IATF standards. This on-site position reports to the Director of Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree or equivalent in logistics, supply chain, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in a logistics role such as demand/planning or supply chain analyst.
• Experience with ISO/TS and IATF standards is required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and coordinate procurement and production materials to meet schedule.
• Coordinate supplier selection and evaluate vendor performance.
• Maintain procurement records: cost, delivery, quality, inventory.
• Create ERP reports to guide plants and suppliers.
• Assist in performance dashboards and quarterly supplier scorecards.

Material Planner

Duties

Analyze and coordinate the ongoing logistical functions involving supplier selection, procuring production materials, components, and services needed to efficiently meet the production schedule requirements of NORMA Group's customers in fulfillment of NORMA Group's business plan, vision, and mission. Review and analyze material requirements, including all specifications, drawings, and prints that may be required. Use current Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in the most efficient way after completion of training. Create reports using data from current ERP system as tools to guide the producing plants/suppliers through priorities. Approve invoices if required by finance department. Maintain procurement records on items and services purchased to include cost, delivery, product quality, vendor performance issues, and inventories. Evaluate and monitor contract performance by supplier for blanket purchase orders or systems contracts when applicable. Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with users, suppliers, and others to determine necessary corrective action together with the quality manager. Work as a partner with customer and production support team to maintain optimal schedules for all manufacturing teams to meet customer requirements. Participate in inventory activities. Ensure supplier metrics and score cards are updated and sent out quarterly using Bravo system. Assume responsibility for related initiatives as needs arise.

Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor – Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field of study; will accept equivalent foreign degree.

Experience: Three (3) years in the position above, as a Demand Planner, Supply Chain Analyst, Sales Representative, or in a related logistics role.

Experience must include each of the following:

1. Supply chain management at an ISO, TS, and IATF certified manufacturing organization.
2. Working with Microsoft Dynamics D365 as a Key User.
3. Implementing, tracking, and updating production planning parameters in an ERP system.
4. Managing inventory and requirement levels for production materials within a manufacturing organization.
5. Implementing supply chain process improvements using lean manufacturing tools.
6. Using quality requirements in supply chain, including ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, and IATF 16949
