Job summary

Triton Metal Products in Hamilton, IN is seeking a Buyer to source commodity raw materials, hardware, and outside processing to keep production running safely and on time. You'll balance cost, quality, delivery, and inventory while partnering with Production, Quality, Accounting, Customer Service, and Operations.

The role offers a competitive salary and opportunities for growth within Purchasing. This position reports to the Director of Business Management and requires strong negotiation,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of purchasing/procurement experience in manufacturing.
• Experience buying metal commodities, hardware, outside processing, or MRO items.
• ERP/MRP system experience required; MIE Trak experience preferred.
• Able to read and interpret bills of materials and specs.
• Strong Excel, follow-up, and analytical problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Direct material purchasing: run material requirements, validate demand, and issue POs.
• Purchase outside processing services (plating, coating, etc.) and coordinate lead times.
• Procure factory supplies, consumables, and MRO items; manage replenishment.
• Support receiving by matching docs and maintaining traceability to POs.
• Participate in supplier performance reviews and monitor market conditions.
