Job summary

OPW in Elon, North Carolina, is seeking a Buyer to support daily production requirements. You will work with the Operations Planning community to ensure world-class customer service and on-time deliveries across multiple locations.

The role requires 3–5 years of manufacturing purchasing experience, ERP proficiency, and the ability to read engineering blueprints. This is an on-site position with a Monday–Friday first-shift schedule and potential for a discretionary bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, logistics, or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Computer savvy with ERP, Excel, and MS Office Suite.
• Ability to read engineering blueprints and understand manufacturing processes.
• Self-driven, results oriented with strong communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Day to day procurement activities to ensure on-time deliveries and inventory levels.
• Purchase a wide array of items using ERP and monitor supplier performance.
• Improve supplier performance by tracking cost, quality, delivery, and lead times.
• Resolve pricing and receiving discrepancies with vendors and accounts payable.
