Job summary

Lithium Americas in Winnemucca, NV seeks a Buyer to manage the full purchasing cycle supporting operations, maintenance and projects. You will source, evaluate and procure materials, manage POs, and ensure timely delivery of critical goods to site, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

This role reports to the Supply Chain Manager and may involve occasional travel to other offices or project sites as needed. A strong background in mining or heavy industry procurement is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in mining, industrial manufacturing, construction, or similar heavy-industry environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent combination considered.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure materials, equipment, and consumables in accordance with requisitions and demand plans.
• Prepare RFQs, evaluate vendor bids, and negotiate pricing and terms.
• Create and review POs in ERP, ensure pricing and delivery dates are accurate.
• Track open POs, expedite urgent needs, and manage delivery schedules.
