Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Strategic Buyer in New Brighton, MN to develop purchasing schedules, negotiate materials, and manage supplier relationships. You will support production plans, monitor inventory, and engage in supplier performance evaluations while ensuring LEAN improvements and compliance with ITAR requirements.

Minimum two years’ experience, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and proficiency with MRP/ERP systems and MS Office are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required in Business Management or related field.
Minimum two years relevant experience.
Experience with MRP and ERP systems.
Experience with MS Office.

Responsibilities

Develop purchasing schedules for manufacturing projects and production plans.
Negotiate and purchase materials, services and MRO items.
Expedite purchase orders and identify part shortages in advance.
Maintain professional relationships with suppliers and resolve issues.
Manage assigned inventory items to meet project objectives.
Participate in supplier evaluation and performance tracking.
Provide timely quotes for the Sales & Marketing team and support make/buy decisions.
