Job summary

Y. Hata & Co., Limited in Hawaiʻi is seeking a Buyer to support procurement of food products and supplies in line with company standards, inventory needs and customer demand.

Under Purchasing leadership, you will source vendors, evaluate orders, monitor stock, and ensure timely deliveries while minimizing cost. You will work with teams across Sales, Logistics and Operations, apply core values, and develop relationships with vendors.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in business administration or related field.
• 1–2 years of buying experience, food service industry preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication and vendor negotiation skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office 365 and procurement software.

Responsibilities

• Supports procurement of food products and supplies in alignment with company standards.
• Sources vendors and evaluates purchase orders.
• Monitors stock levels and ensures timely delivery of goods.
• Maintains data integrity in the perpetual inventory system.
• Builds positive/vendor relationships and identifies opportunities.
