Job summary

Applied Materials in Austin, TX is seeking a Buyer to procure materials, equipment and services for our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. You will collaborate across teams to monitor inventory, manage delivery schedules, and negotiate with suppliers.

You will lead purchasing projects, drive cost reduction, and ensure quality and timely supply while maintaining compliance with internal policies. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2–4 years of experience in procurement or supply chain.
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure supply continuity for manufacturing by monitoring inventory and supplier delivery.
• Lead cross-functional teams to resolve supply issues with engineering, manufacturing, and program managers.
• Drive purchasing to achieve lowest total cost while considering quality and urgency.
• Lead inventory and cost reduction efforts across purchasing activities.
• Manage and lead purchasing projects with scope, cost, and schedule responsibilities.
• Handle sensitive supplier information with internal teams and leadership.
• Contribute to process improvements and train department staff.
