Job summary

Applied Materials in Kalispell, Montana is seeking a Buyer to purchase materials, supplies, machinery, and services for our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. You will collaborate across teams to monitor inventory, manage delivery scheduling, negotiate with suppliers, and procure items that transform possibilities into customer solutions.

The role emphasizes supply continuity, on-time delivery, and driving cost reductions while maintaining quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 1–2 years of related experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure supply continuity to enable manufacturing with speed and quality; follow-up on orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain records.
• Proactively drive timely delivery of parts from suppliers to Applied factories; resolve shipment/receiving and billing issues.
• Partner with suppliers on demand/supply collaboration; manage pull-ins/push-outs to meet MRP demand.
• Drive inventory and E&Z reduction efforts.
• Negotiate and execute purchase orders and RFQs to drive lowest cost while ensuring quality and reliability.
• Resolve supply issues with key stakeholders (engineering, manufacturing, PMs) with management support.
