Job summary

Applied Materials in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Buyer responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, machinery, and services for our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. You will collaborate across teams to monitor inventory, manage delivery scheduling, and negotiate with suppliers to transform possibilities into realities for our customers and teams.

Time Type: Full time. The salary range provided reflects market compensation, with relocation and benefits as applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 1-2 years of related experience
• A solid understanding of the industry’s key business drivers
• Good communication/interpersonal skills to explain complex information to others

Responsibilities

• Ensure supply continuity to enable manufacturing with speed and quality. Follow-up on orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records. Adhere to standard purchasing business processes
• Proactively drive and ensure timely delivery/shipment of parts from supplier to Applied factories including resolution of shipment/receiving and billing issues with supplier
• Partner with suppliers on demand/supply collaboration. Execute and manage pull-ins/push-outs with suppliers to meet MRP demand
• Drive inventory and E&Z reduction efforts
• Negotiate and execute purchase and RFQ to drive the lowest cost consistent with consideration of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need
• Drive problem resolution for supply issues with key stakeholders (engineering, manufacturing, Program Managers) with support from Managers
