Qualifications

• Minimum of five years’ experience in an industrial purchasing position.
• Direct material purchasing experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Proficient Microsoft Office Excel skills.
• Proven ERP/MRP systems experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand manufacturing processes.
• High level of interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain existing supplier base; negotiate price and terms.
• Coordinate supplier deliveries and communicate on-time delivery expectations.
• Resolve quality and delivery issues with suppliers, engineers and operations.
• Coordinate engineering changes that impact purchased material.
• Provide purchasing support for production and manage outsourcing where appropriate.
• Monitor supplier performance and intervene to correct service levels.
• Maintain MRP material master settings per company guidelines.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field
