Job summary

Parker Autoclave Team in Erie, PA is hiring a Buyer who will ensure timely acquisitions from approved sources and support manufacturing operations. The role involves supplier research, RFQs, POs, and ongoing supplier performance monitoring.

Qualifications

• Requires a 4-year degree in supply chain management or a related field.
• Experience or exposure to supply chain concepts and manufacturing via internships or training.
• Analytical and technical skills to apply business practices and automation opportunities.
• Intermediate computer skills and understanding of electronic processing.

Responsibilities

• Identify and qualify suppliers by researching potential sources and materials.
• Visit supplier sites and evaluate production capability, delivery, and quality.
• Purchase parts and materials by issuing PRs/POs with approved suppliers; maintain lead times.
• Evaluate bids and select suppliers for cost, quality, and service; develop alternate sources.
• Monitor supplier performance; flag potential failures affecting production or delivery.
• Resolve shipment quality discrepancies; facilitate supplier-manufacturer conferences.
