Seaman Corporation is seeking a Strategic Business Development Manager to join our Commercial team! This position will report to the Senior Strategic Commercial Director in a remote capacity.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Strategic Business Development Manager – Data Centers owns a focused portfolio of assigned strategic data center accounts. The role develops durable relationships with owners and their design, development, and construction teams to expand adoption of FiberTite roof systems across multiple projects, facilities, and markets.

This individual builds and executes account plans, maps decision makers and project ecosystems, advances specifications and program-level opportunities, and coordinates Seaman Corporation resources from early design through project delivery. Success requires preparation before customer engagements, clear internal communication, disciplined follow-through, and reliable visibility into account activity and the project pipeline.

Candidates should be able to navigate long and complex sales cycles, establish credibility with senior decision makers, understand data center development and construction, and translate product performance, project risk, and total cost of ownership into customer value. Experience with hyperscalers, enterprise and colocation operators, industrial developers, designers, contractors, and other strategic partners is preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Own a limited portfolio of assigned strategic data center accounts and develop written account plans that identify customer priorities, key stakeholders, facilities, projects, partners, growth opportunities, and specific next actions.
  • Build relationships with owners and decision makers across design, construction, procurement, facilities, and executive leadership; develop appropriate connections with architects, consultants, developers, general contractors, and authorized installers.
  • Identify projects early, map the customer and project ecosystem, understand specification and purchasing decisions, and advance FiberTite into standards, specifications, programs, and individual projects.
  • Prepare for customer meetings by defining the objective, participants, desired decisions, Seaman Corporation roles, and follow-up plan; lead discussions and take ownership of documented actions and timely follow-through.
  • Coordinate with Strategic Channel Development, CORE sales, technical, product, marketing, customer service, and operations teams to align account strategy, customer commitments, project execution, and issue resolution.
  • Develop opportunities for repeatable, multi-location business through account standards, preferred solutions, program agreements, and other customer arrangements where appropriate.
  • Communicate account plans, stakeholder changes, opportunities, risks, customer feedback, and support needs early to leadership and affected teams; clarify account and project ownership when responsibilities intersect.
  • Lead commercial discussions and negotiations within delegated authority, involving leadership and other functions when pricing, supply, service, technical commitments, or contractual terms require their input.
  • Maintain timely and accurate account, contact, activity, opportunity, and project records in Seaman360; manage a credible pipeline and forecast with clear next steps, timing, value, and decision path.
  • Measure progress through account penetration, specifications, conversions, program adoption, pipeline quality, and sales growth against assigned goals.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Five or more years of business development, strategic account management, or consultative sales experience involving complex commercial construction, building products, data centers, or related markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles, build relationships across multiple functions and levels, and convert account strategy into documented opportunities and results.
  • Ability to travel 40–60% and work effectively with remote, cross-functional teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, or developer-led data center programs and their design and construction ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of commercial roofing or building envelope systems, specifications, project delivery, and the roles of owners, architects, contractors, and installers.
  • Experience developing national or multi-site customer programs, including executive reviews, standards, and coordinated project support.
  • Ability to establish credibility quickly, ask strong questions, listen closely, challenge assumptions constructively, and adapt a solution to the customer’s priorities.
COMPETENCIES

To perform the job successfully, an individual should be aligned with our company values and demonstrate the following competencies:

Do What’s Right
  • Safety: Safety is our priority and everyone’s responsibility. If you see something unsafe, you are called to say something.
