Job summary

Eppstein Uhen Architects, Inc. seeks a Business Developer to cultivate new relationships and support engagement opportunities across Workplace and Community markets in Southeast Wisconsin and Northern Illinois.

You will lead discovery, prospecting, appointments with decision-makers, and knowledge sharing to advance client opportunities. The role requires 10+ years in professional services relationship management, strong communication, and the ability to travel up to 30%.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or advanced degree in a design related field.
• 10+ years professional experience in relationship development for professional services.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and Client Relationship Management platforms.
• Excellent listening, questioning and follow-up skills with ability to build long-lasting relationships.
• Exceptional narrative, communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
• Ability to learn architectural, engineering and related processes and translate EUA services to clients.
• Active involvement in community or industry groups.
• Willingness to travel up to 30%.
• Represent EUA with professionalism and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Lead relationship identification and development efforts including research, engagement strategies, and pursuit activities.
• Conduct prospecting and organize actions to initiate relationships and meet target clients.
• Generate and secure appointments with decision makers and coordinate internal participation.
• Ensure knowledge sharing and smooth hand-offs to team members.
• Lead the BD process including presentations, proposals, and market planning.
• Participate in industry events and client/partner engagement strategies.
• Develop strategies to move opportunities toward project retention.
• Network with contacts, industry groups and centers of influence.
