Job summary

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) seeks a Policy Analyst (Detail) to support major policy decisions in the Budget Review Division. The incumbent reports to the OMB Assistant Director and senior leadership and assists in budget and legislative analysis.

Typical duties include developing budget proposals, conducting studies, reviewing research and data, and advising senior staff on recommended actions related to federal policy.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the development of multifaceted budget, program, and legislative proposals.
• Plans, conducts, and completes special analytical and other studies relevant to budget and legislative policymaking.
• Reviews important research, evaluation, and statistical activities of Federal and nongovernment sectors to identify and initiate actions to improve databases available to shape informed policy decisions.
• Reviews pending and proposed budget actions and legislation on assigned topics and advises senior staff and the Assistant Director on recommended actions.
• Develops and recommends options for action in relevant areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
