Job summary

The Smithsonian Institution is seeking a Budget Analyst to support a broad range of financial management functions, including budget formulation, execution, and administrative oversight.

You will analyze expenditures, prepare analytic reports, and advise on remedial actions while aligning with federal regulations. The role requires demonstrated experience at the GS-11 level and detailed resume documentation.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 in the Federal Service.
• Experience in budget formulation, budget execution, and administrative management.
• Ability to provide technical advice in compliance with Federal regulations and policy directives.
• Resume must clearly demonstrate alignment with responsibilities and specialized experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct budget formulation by analyzing annual funding requirements to estimate internal program needs.
• Analyze and evaluate the budget by monitoring expenditures, preparing analytic reports, and recommending remedial actions.
• Develop cost data reports for assigned programs with the Budget Officer.
• Develop policies, procedures, and guidance for budget formulation and financial management.
