Job summary

University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) invites applications for the Associate Director, Financial Planning and Reporting within Advancement Services. You will lead budget modeling, financial planning, and reporting for EA's $115M+ budget, and manage the $95M compensation budget and $20M in program expenses, serving as the primary finance liaison.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years of accounting, budget or related financial experience.
• Budgetary analysis and to assess financial information, practices and procedures, anticipate problems, formulate conclusions and recommend changes.
• Budgetary analysis and control including reconciliation of ledgers, monitoring and projection of expenditures.
• Advanced knowledge of internal controls and protecting university resources.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking with ability to analyze data from multiple sources.
• Ability to work collaboratively or independently with time/resource management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication of financial information.
• Strong interpersonal skills and customer service experience.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Ability to prioritize in a high-volume environment with changing needs.
• Experience using multiple spreadsheets, databases and software for financial analysis.
• Knowledge of UCLA’s financial systems and purchasing policies (Preferred).
• Knowledge of university personnel policies and salary funding (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop, interpret and implement models for financial planning and resource planning and control of EA's budget.
• Track multi-year budget model and assist annual allocation planning for EA’s budget.
• Manage the division's compensation budget and programmatic expenses.
• Extract, reconcile, and present ledger data; develop multi-year forecasts.
• Deliver key reports for leadership and campus partners.
• Mentor budget liaisons and evaluate policies to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and division managers on budget issues.
