Job summary

Howard Center in Burlington, VT is seeking a Budget and Financial Manager with a hybrid schedule. You will develop, monitor and forecast budgets for programs and grants across the nonprofit agency.

You will train program directors in their budget development and decisions, manage contracts and grants, and provide finance expertise for strategic direction and policy decisions. Three years of related experience and strong spreadsheet skills are required; a valid driver’s license is expected.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in Budget Development, Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• Computer proficiency, especially Spreadsheets.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Develop annual and program budgets.
• Train program directors in budget development and budgeting impact.
• Manage and track contracts and grants; prepare federal/state reporting.
• Provide finance expertise for strategic direction and policy changes:**
• Monitor budgets and analyze income/expenses; prepare financial reports.
• Participate in agency committees; advise on financial trends impacting programs.
• Reconcile balance sheet and income accounts monthly for year-end audits.
