Job summary

The Budget Analyst at The College reviews and manages the operating and capital budgets, performing complex analyses to support planning, forecasting, and financial decision-making. You will coordinate budget development, monitor expenditures, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with GASB standards and policy requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.
• Experience in budget development, administration, forecasting, and reporting.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting practices, financial management, and financial statement analysis.
• Experience with financial analysis, revenue and expense forecasting, and cost allocation.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with financial modeling and complex spreadsheet development.

Responsibilities

• Assist in budget development, implementation, and monitoring of the operating budget.
• Provide technical support for budget planning, forecasting, and financial decision-making.
• Prepare budget journal entries and ensure compliance with GASB standards and policies.
• Prepare financial reports, analyses, and projections for planning and decision-making.
• Communicate findings to management and stakeholders; support capital improvement reporting.
• Participate in cross-training and support budget administration and financial reporting.
• Represent the department at meetings and perform special projects as assigned.
