Job summary

The University of South Alabama’s Budget Office is seeking to hire an Assistant Budget Director. The position is responsible for maintaining the University budget, loading budgets to the general ledger, monitoring budget entries and salary budgets, and providing financial analysis and reporting to university divisions.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or finance and at least four years of professional accounting/finance experience; a master’s degree and CPA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or directly related field and four years of professional accounting/finance experience.
• Master’s degree and CPA are preferred.
• Experience in higher education budgeting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain University budget for compliance with policies and procedures.
• Prepare budget load to the general ledger including mid-year and adjustments.
• Monitor salary budgets and budget entries in the general ledger.
• Reconcile salary budgets with HR records and ensure funding.
• Provide budget analysis, projections, and reports to divisions.
