Job summary

Howard University School of Law is seeking a Finance & Budget Director to lead the annual operating budget process, analyze costs across programs, and provide data-driven recommendations to enhance efficiency. The role requires hands-on use of Workday/Adaptive and collaboration with stakeholders across the Law School and university.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field is required.
• 3+ years of budgeting/financial analysis experience, preferably in higher education.
• Proficiency with Workday and/or Adaptive; strong budgeting and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, preparation and presentation of the annual operating budget.
• Conduct comparative analyses of program costs to identify variances and cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare regular financial reports including budget vs. actual analyses and highlight deviations.
