Job summary

Douglas County, Nevada, is seeking a Budget Strategist with a strong background in complex budgeting and forecasting to guide the county's financial planning and resource allocation.

You will serve as a liaison between the County Manager's Office, the Board of County Commissioners, and departments, leading budget development, performance monitoring, and reporting to improve transparency and long-term sustainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• Six years of progressively responsible government budgeting and financial planning experience.
• Experience developing complex budgets and financial forecasts.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and administration of operating and capital budgets.
• Provide executive-level recommendations on fiscal matters to the County Manager and Board.
• Coordinate with Comptroller and Finance for alignment of budgeting and reporting.
• Monitor budget performance and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop multi-year financial forecasts and long-range capital planning.
• Present financial reports to stakeholders and support policy development.
• Promote transparency, accountability, and budget governance.
