Job summary

The Phoenix Group Advisors in New York seeks an experienced Director of Benefits, Retirement & Risk Management to oversee benefits, retirement plans, leave programs, and property and casualty insurance for the Firm.

This hands-on leader will partner with Firm leadership, attorneys, and HR to translate complex regulatory and financial data into actionable strategies, negotiate vendor terms, and ensure timely deliverables across all programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of leadership in employee benefits.
• Deep expertise in retirement plans (401(k), profit-sharing, cash balance).
• Strong governance, compliance, and ERISA knowledge.
• Proven vendor management with brokers, recordkeepers, and actuaries.
• Excellent communication and executive presence.

Responsibilities

• Lead benefits, retirement, leave, and insurance programs for the Firm.
• Advise senior leadership on complex benefit matters and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee annual open enrollment and communications.
• Manage relationships with vendors and maintain system data integrity.
• Coordinate audits, Form 5500 filings, and financial reporting.
